Patty was one of the East Helena kids who all grew up together during the 50s.  We weren't a very large class (generally around 20 kids all the way from kindergarten through eighth grade) so we knew each other pretty well.  I remember the "spelling parties" we had on a Friday night a couple of times a year.  Spelling didn't really have anything to do with it other than the class with the lowest average spelling grade between 7th and 8th grades had to host the party for the other class.  It was a dance, and it was here that we learned to socialize with others and actually dance.  It was great!

One of my favorite memories of Patty ocurred in the eighth grade.  Our principal, Mr. Radley, was also our social studies teacher and he had left us in class to take care of a situation down the hall.  We were on our honor to be respectable young ladies and gentlemen.  We, of course, started out being respectable, but things somehow went downhill after a while.  I remember lots of giggling and teasing, etc., and some guy picking Patty up and holding her upside-down.  More screeching and laughing and the reappearance of Mr. Radley, who was not amused!  We were in sooo much trouble!

I miss all of those days!

Patty was a wonderful lady and good friend of all us "East Helena Kids"...EHPS (East Helena Public School) graduating class of 1960 had launched us into Helena Jr. High as 9th graders and good times and sometimes funny times on the bus.  Patty, rest in peace, dear friend.

Patty and I were good friends in high school. We were both in Miss Morse's shorthand class and if it hadn't been for Patty's help I would never of made it through that class. I miss hearing from you every Christmas Patty.

I'm another East Helena girl, Patty lived fiarly close to me, so would stop by her house and we walked the rest of the way to school.  I thought Patty was such a pretty girl and quite athletic. We were a toss up on who could run the fastest (such an imprtant thing you know)  I'll never admit to this day which one of us was faster!!!!!!!
